John, the legislation will have no impact on us, as most of its' provisos don't go into effect for several years and we will be on Medicare (God willing) by the end of this year. Right now we have at least "catastrophic" coverage that will cover much of our expenses after the first $10K or so if something really outlandish happens...this was available through an on-line resource as a short-term policy and at least has the benefit of making us feel as if there is some safety net.

Don't think we are a wealthy nation any longer - China has lent us a whole lot of $, I was thinking the other day it is odd that we have to borrow money, pay exhorbitant interest on it and as we exist on money from China, we give it away to other countries that we think are in need. I love fiscal responsibility.
Insurance to Illegal Immigrants - I think not
I have NO problem with people who immigrate legally with work visa's etc. If they want what our country has to offer than they need to work towards citizenship and learn the english language as every generation has before them. Let's not reward them with one more thing for coming here "illegally" and sending the money they earn home. A better use of our tax dollars for heath care - Eliminate the donut hole for perscription drugs for our senior citizens, make sure every child - which would include the children of illegal immigrants who are born here - top notch pediatric care, immunizations etc. If I could have it my way "illegals" would not be using our hospitals for their doctor offices, I would much rather see the day when I never here again that a US Citizen is foregoing medication because they can't afford it.

For another subject why don't I hear about "Tort Reform" - this would have such a major impact on the cost of healthcare - This would be change - but our glorfied politicians just won't go there - long reign Pelosi.

One last thought as a US Citizen I consider my most sacred right - the right to vote -
During a presidential election recount - I litterally was sick to my stomach - when during the recount they found 450,000 votes from illegal immigrants in the state of California alone.
I have had to deal with ACORN, one of the most corrupt groups I ever had to deal with and that is saying something coming from NY, I am not amused that this administration supports them.

Thanks for letting me vent
